About APK Mods

What we do

APK Mods brings together three things in one place:

• Downloads. Android games and apps as .apk, .xapk, .apks and .apkm files, with a version history for each app. You can browse games, apps or categories.
• File details. For every file we show the package name, version, size, minimum Android version, supported architectures, the file SHA-256, the signing certificate SHA-256, the permissions count, a VirusTotal link and the uploader.
• Guides. Plain-language help on what a MOD APK is, how to install APK and XAPK files and how to judge if a file is safe.

Original and MOD files

Every file carries one of two labels. Original means the developer’s own build, signed with the same certificate as earlier versions of that app. MOD means a third party changed the app — for example to remove ads or unlock features — and the download page lists what was changed.

We are open about the fact that MOD files are not made by the original developers and carry extra risk. We do not call any file “100% safe”, and we do not show made-up ratings, reviews or download numbers. What you see on a page comes from the file itself or from the person who uploaded it.

The developer program

Developers can create a free account, set up a public profile and publish their own apps. An app can be imported from its Google Play link or added by hand, and files up to 2 GB can be uploaded. First uploads are reviewed by a person; developers with a clean history can publish straight away. Read more on the developer program page.

What we care about

• Honest information. We describe risks plainly and avoid promises we cannot keep.
• Facts over claims. Hashes, certificates and permissions are read from the file, not typed in by hand.
• Respect for developers. Rights holders can ask us to remove their apps, and we act on valid requests within 72 hours.
• Fast, simple pages. The site is built to load quickly on budget phones and slow connections.
• User safety. We never host modded banking, UPI or wallet apps, and we remind users never to share a UPI PIN or OTP.

Who the site is for

Our pages are written for everyday Android users, many of them on phones from Xiaomi, Samsung, Realme, Oppo and Vivo, often with limited storage and mobile data. We keep instructions short and practical, and we add notes for these phone brands where their settings differ from standard Android.

An independent site

APK Mods is not connected to Google, the Play Store or the developers whose apps appear here, unless a developer publishes through their own account. App names, icons and trademarks belong to their owners.
